[Political] Gridlock is not an American Problem, it’s an American Achievement. The framers of our Constitution didnt want an efficient government, they wanted a safe government- to which end, they filled it with slowing and blocking mechanisms:
Three branches of Government
Two Branches of the legislative branch
A Veto [power]
Veto override
Super majorities
Judicial Review
[the list goes on and on. keeping power fragmented keeps us safe from kings and despots. But by the recent progress of our totalitarian and communist rivals, such low risk on government design breeds in the inability for true change to happen quickly.]
